The internet is a great place for research. Maybe?? Please! When it comes to making a final decision on a hot tub – don’t buy online. Every day we field phone calls from exasperated tub owners with parts, service and warranty problems on their “Internet Deal”. Apparently, they call us because no-one else is answering the phone!
We saw a study recently that said over 81% of all consumers research their planned purchases online before making their final choice on which products to buy. That’s really not surprising in 2017 – and, it make sense from the customers we talk to. Research on-line, ABSOLUTELY!
But, make a purchase in-person from a reputable store and an intelligent human being. Most shoppers have never owned a hot tub and don’t have the experience to know what they are buying. They NEED the experience to understand what is being sold to them. Buying from a dealership, whether in-home or in-store, is the most confident way to make the best purchase decision and save you the most money
Don’t Buy Online. Hot tubs are not equal
Online shopping was one of the key reasons we performed a major upgrade to our website in mid-2016. Carefree Spas vastly improved the research-shopping phase of the customer experience by putting over 70 different spas and hot tubs on-line via our new website.
It’s been great for us, too. When a shopper calls in, we are able to direct them to certain areas of the website and talk through some options. Every day we have informed discussions about which spas might meet their needs – before they come into our dealerships.
But, no matter what degree of online shopping customers conduct, most consumers prefer to make a final purchase decision in person – in a store. That is critically important in this industry. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll get a ‘better deal’ online. It’s important to physically see some hot tubs or spas before you buy them. The best hot tubs are a long term investment and will add value to your home as well as provide family entertainment for many years.
Unfortunately internet deals can sometimes fall through meaning you’ll lose your money, or worse still, the hot tub you receive is much lower in quality than the one you were expecting. It will end up costing you more to run it or repair it. It’s important to understand the quality of your potential purchase.
Make note of what you DON’T SEE online
Not all hot tubs are the same. During your research look out for reputable hot tub manufacturers and search their websites for information. If a dealership has a good reputation for quality, you’ll be able to see it pretty clearly. Quality hot tub retailers and manufacturers will provide in-depth hot tub product specifications, technical quality details, as well as service and warranty information.
These are the types of things you WON’T SEE on websites that hawk a lesser quality, more cheaply made hot tub that gets your attention with price. There’s a lot to think about with a hot tub investment – delivery, set-up, maintenance, trouble shooting. We’ve heard stories of internet deals being shipped and dropped off in a customer’s driveway! No set-up, No wiring, No Plumbing. Not much of a DEAL.
At Carefree Spas we have the expertise and are ready to provide all those extras – and, we will answer all your questions. We have bright and experienced associates in each of our dealerships that take a lot of pride in satisfying customers – face to face.
You can’t get that with an internet deal!
